SOLD

Two sets of four oak dining chairs and a similar pair the design attributed to E.W.Godwin, with carved floral detail to the back rail and wonderful little ebony turnings just above the seats. See Susan Weber Soros'The Secular Furniture of E.W.Godwin, page 127 illustration 172. One set is stamped RUMMEY and LOVE, I have also had this chair in the past stamped LAMBS OF MANCHESTER which would point to this design of chair being produced by a number of companies possibly under licence. Circa 1880.
