A cast iron fireplace insert, with Japanese style decorative roundels on ribbed and blind fret grounds, cast 'Registered' and an indistinct Patent Office mark. See Soros, Susan and Arbuthnott, Catherine 'Thomas Jeckyll: Architect and Designer 1827-1881', p. 212, 213, 214 and 216. Measures 93cm high, 91.5cm wide. Opening :- 67 1/2 cm high, 45 15cm wide.
