Shapland and Petter. A stunning oak treble wardrobe and matching chest-of-drawers/cupboard

A stunning Shapland and Petter oak treble wardrobe and matching chest-of-drawers/cupboard. The wardrobe with flaring cornice and central upper cupboard with two bow fronted drawers below flanked by a pair of doors with arched bevelled mirrors opening to reveal full hanging length to the left and to the right hand side which has a small shelf to the top and further hanging space below and three shelves to the centre cupboard and a pair of wider drawers to the base, the whole on shaped base with capped feet. Both pieces inlaid with fantastic Glasgow Roses with Abalone inlaid hearts and floral details throughout. The chest/cupboard with shaped conforming inlaid back with capped uprights to each side, the work area with twin drawers below that sit beside a cupboard with a full length lower drawer, the whole on conforming shaped base and capped feet and conforming inlays throughout. The original handles on the wardrobe and matching chest/cupboard have now been re silver plated. The plating had worn and it looked uneven. The wardrobe and matching chest/cupboard in the first two lines of images are shown before the handles were re plated. The first two images in the third row of images show the re silver plated handles which now match on both pieces. Wardrobe measures Height 83", Width of Cornice 66 1/2", Depth Cornice 24 1/2", Chest Of Drawers/Cupboard measures Height 35 1/2", Width 48", Depth 23". Circa 1900.
