Richard Llewellyn Benson Rathbone. Attributed to C.F.A. Voysey An Arts & Crafts large copper desk tidy and ink well Stamped 'Rathbone' on base. Beautiful original chocolate patina to the metal Rathbone was an art metal worker, a teacher and a designer. He trained with W. A. S. Benson in London then went on to set up a workshop in 1890. He produced pieces there until the early 1900s when he became head of the Sir John Cass Institute in London. He was made an Honorary member of Sandon Studio Society in Liverpool in 1908 and was Chairman of the London County Council Consultative Committee on silversmithing.
