Philip Webb for Morris and Co. A rare mahogany sheet music or folio stand with elongated turned finials, pierced circular decoration and a three quarter turned gallery below with three open shelves and a cupboard to the base.

An ebonized version without a lower cupboard sold for £9500 at Sotheby's: ‘The Best Of British Design from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Selling Exhibition' London 14-20 March 2008. PR69. You can see when compared with the mahogany one we have available that the ebonized one has been reduced slightly at the feet.

A similar whatnot with the same finials can be seen in an 1879 photograph of the Morris and Co shop window at 449 Oxford St.
