POA

Morris & Co designed by Edward Burne Jones in 1861-1862. A rare Arts and Crafts Pre-Raphaelite hand painted tile depicting Geoffrey Chaucer's poem, 'Legend of Good Wimmen'. The tile has at some point been damaged and it is missing a corner which we have shown in one of the images, seems reasonable to suggest that is why it had a circular frame specially made for it. The Fiberite packing we found inside the frame dates back to the 1920's or 1930's so it is likely this is when the frame was made.
