Liberty and Co attributed. A set of six Glasgow Style oak dining chairs

POA

Liberty and Co attributed. A set of six Glasgow Style oak dining chairs consisting of one armchair and five side chairs with floral carving to the head rests and a single flower cut-out to the back rests with square tapering legs to the front united by a square stretcher, with double turned stretchers to the sides and one at the back each with newly laid rush seats.

The chairs have been restored and had new rush professionally laid to the seat. To professionally re-rush a chair seat demands a good deal of time. We must start with removing the old rush, then labelling all the separate parts so the chair goes back together the exact way it came apart. Next gently dismantle the chairs, cleaning all the joints and joint ends, re-glueing and clamping for at least 24 hours, remove the clamps, clean and wax the chairs, and off to the rush seat specialist to lay new rush seats.
