George Walton (1867-1933). An Arts and Crafts oak fold over writing desk for one of George Davidson's home's either Beechcroft (built C1898 - C1901) or 'Wern Fawr' Harlech. Wales. (built from C1906 - C1911). One can just see the desk to the left hand side of an interior picture (image attached) from Wern Fawr in C1910 after the new extension had been built See George Walton Designer and Architect by Karen Moon page 140 she also states that :- 'The furniture, was probably brought from Beechcroft'. The desk with hand formed copper heart shaped escutcheon plate to the top opening to reveal original Clutha glass inkwell (chipped), next to open pen tray with space below and leather writing area with storage below that, flanked by paper trays to each wing once opened, exposed dovetailing to the corners, on tapering legs united by three shaped stretchers. Circa 1895. Height 31" 78cm, Width 24 1/2 61cm", Width Open 48", Depth 14 1/2" 37cm.
