A Glasgow School oak sidetable designed by George Walton. Here again this design is complicated similar to the larger sidetables he designed for the Billiard room at the Buchanan Street tearooms. Each leg is mitred together giving them a triangular shape which could have been made much easier from one piece of wood. The stretchers with a subtle sweep to the top and bottom allow the upper pointed arc to come together perfectly. An exposed biscuit joint at each point. See George Walton. Designer and Architect by Karen Moon. Page 54. And Christies King Street, 20th Century Decorative Art and Design, March 2006, lot 105 for another example. Height 24", Width of top 13 3/4". Circa 1900.
