Garnet and Sons of Warrington. A good quality Aesthetic Movement oak side or cricket table with a circular quarter sawn top gives wonderful figuring to the grain, with a shaped and scroll-carved apron below. Three legs with bulbous carved decoration to the upper legs turning to square section legs united by a triangular lower shelf and stood on square feet. Garnett and Sons fitted out private and commercial properties, providing chimney pieces, carving and panelling, as well as furniture, upholstery, interior decoration and design work throughout England and Wales. An early 20th-century Warrington trade directory lists 130 of their commissions which included Bradford Town Hall Council Chamber, Lever Bros' Port Sunlight Offices, the Bishop's Palace at Lincoln, and Osmaston Manor, Derbyshire. they exhibited at the Manchester Art Treasures Exhibition of 1861, and the Manchester Jubilee Exhibition, of 1887.
