An exceptional Glasgow School room interior and fireplace suite from an Arts and Crafts house. The first image is partially set it up where you can see the two settee's which are are hinged to the fireplace and move on large wheels through 90 degrees to come together in front of the fire. You can just see the panelling which carries on up to the ceiling each side of the chimney breast where the large oblong mirror sits. There are also two front pieces of panelling with carved brackets and between these is where the brass fire insert with stylised floral details (image 12 and 13). Although not shown it has a flat purple veined marble surround. The cornice with dental mouldings (3rd from last image). There is also four matching window seating bases which are quite plain. On some there are remnants of the original Arts and Crafts fabric. There is a lot here and the images are not great, do feel free call me on 07966 371676 if you would like to discuss this suite. Circa 1903.
