The history of Art Nouveau – Bröhan Museum
Filmed in Berlin, this feature explores the roots and cultural spread of Art Nouveau in Europe’s design history.
Join Tony and his team on an incredible restoration adventure in Northern France restoring a crumbling Anglo-Japanese style period Château steeped in history, and it's overgrown almost lost forever Japanese gardens, that he purchased and began filming back in 2019.
La Maison Des Fluers, or to translate: The House of Flowers was originally designed predominately in the Anglo-Japanese style which dominated design throughout Europe and the UK from the 1860's. Built in the mid to late 1880's right at the end of the Anglo-Japanese Movement by master craftsmen for the head of the biggest sugar beat factory in the world of it's day, with no expense spared, whatsoever. An exceptional Chateau of 650 Sq M divided into 40 rooms, set in just over four acres of period Parkland, with a Summer House, Dove Coote and the remains of a Japanese Tea House including the Chateau's own private train platform.
A romantic epic restoration journey of true grit, passion, determination, and teamwork. Including the highs and lows and at times extreme jeopardy we have overcome so far, while documenting the restoration of this long forgotten, rare architectural gem, back to it's former glory.
