DICKINSON'S REAL DEAL SELLING PAGE

This page is dedicated to items I have purchased while filming at different locations around the country with Dickinson's Real Deal for ITV.
I was a specialist dealer on the tables working with David and the team from July 2011 to 2019 and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. So many different characters arrive, bringing with them their cherished air looms to sell and some incredible stories from Yester year. Nothing is rehearsed we have to think on our feet and with that, on occasion there are some hilarious side splitting moments.
Dickinson's Real Deal is shown on ITV in the afternoons at 3pm on most weekdays and the aim of the show is to get the very best price possible for the people who bring along their antiques and collectables. There is an auctioneer and three professional dealers at every dealers day who sift through all that is brought along to the show. The most interesting and valuable items are valued for the client so they have a good idea what their piece is worth. It is then sent to one of the dealers tables. The dealer is not told what the valuation is that has been put on an item. He is left to his experience and his knowledge to make an offer on what is on the table. If the dealers offer is to low then David comes into the deal and reveals the price the auctioneer and the independent dealers have put on an item giving the dealer the opportunity to go higher. The client then decides whether to take the dealers offer or take the piece to auction. But the client has to take into account the auctioneers commission and sometimes it is a big gamble because if it doesn't sell at auction then the dealers offer would have been the best.
Some of the episodes I appeared in were filmed at :- Walsall, Crewe, Macclesfield, Melton Mowbray, Matlock, Skipton, Coalville, Liverpool Cathedral and Tatton Park.
